
Suzanne Pleshette, born January 31, 1937, died on January 19, 2008. She was an American film voice actress, voice actor and television host. 1 Pleshette began her career in the theatre and started appearing in films in the late 1950s. She then made appearances in notable films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). Later, she was a part of various television productions, mainly in guest roles. She she played Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978, and received several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was born on the 31st of January, 1937, in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1 and Eugene Pleshette. The parents of the couple were Jewish and were immigrants from Russia or Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was a stage manager in both the Paramount Theater and the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
