Shailene Woodley is an American actress and activist. She became popular with her role Alexandra "Alex" King, the teen who is struggling with addiction issues on The Descendants. She continued to impress after her acclaimed performance on The Descendants. The early success of Shailene's career in the film industry is awe-inspiring. Her career began by appearing in television shows and commercials, she went on to play prominent roles in Hollywood movies. Due to her talent as an actor she's won numerous accolades, such as MTV Movie Awards, People's Choice Awards and Teen Choice Awards. She has also been nominated for other high-profile awards like BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Shailene has been an actor for several years, however she is also a strong environmentalist. In 2010, she founded The All it Takes non-profit organization together with her mother.
